Tonsilitis & Toronto

So...I was starting to feel almost normal. My cold symptoms were almost gone, eleven days after it started. Then, Wednesday night, it happened. A tickle in the throat. What the...? I felt progressively worse Thursday and Friday so last night I heeded motherly advice and went to the doctor. Tonsilitis. Are you kidding me? I haven't had that since I was nine. So now I'm on drugs that thankfully were quite cheap. I have to miss a family BBQ in Fredericton celebrating my grandparents' 65th anniversary, so that stinks.

On a more positive note, I'm now done work (except for an extended staff meeting on Tuesday) for the next seven weeks. As tough as it can be to make ends meet over the summer, it's awesome to have the flexibility to do things on short notice. The principal of the academy approached me because he was needing another driver/leader for their grad trip next week. Whitewater rafting in Maine, then to Toronto for Canada's Wonderland, a play, Niagara Falls...Hmmm...let me think...shyah! I am so excited! And I'm glad that I'm getting all this sickness done and over before we hit the road.
