Crossroads
Ok. I have been a slogger. I readily admit it. But there's a reason why. I've been on the verge of some breaking news for a little while now and just today it's become official and public knowledge, etc. This is what I've been waiting to share...Earlier in the summer, my Dad was offered an exciting new position within the company he works for. (Hold on...I'll quickly get to how this affects me...) This new job means relocating to head office which is in the Halifax area. (You see where this is going...?) It's a hugely incredible opportunity and I am so proud of him.
As you likely know, dear readers, I work in an administrative role in a church which is not the most lucrative career to be had. I have been able to work in this role because I live with my parents (which has worked out quite well to this point). So my parents moving to NS leaves me with two options. Stay or go. Either way, I can no longer remain in my current employment...it is impossible, whether financially or geographically.
After much thought, I have determined that it is my desire to stay in Moncton. So...my summer pursuits have included job-hunting. The hunt ended today, when I received word that I have an offer at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for a reservation sales agent.
I am sad in many ways that two weeks from now, I will be finished my current position at MW. I will continue my volunteer involvements, but I will miss so much about being in the office every day.
I am, however, quite excited about this opportunity because it is an excellent place to start a career and it will enable me to be financially independent. I have an apartment lined-up that I am incredibly excited about. More on that some other time.

Congrats! I'm sure you'll do well in whatever you do. My sister-in-law has worked for Fairmont for quite a while now... since way back when Vicky worked there and it was a different name... it seems like a pretty decent place to work and you get to travel to the hotels, etc. so I'm sure you'll love that part.
Congrats to you dad too! That's going to be a big change for them/you I'm sure!
I'm one of your "silent readers"...I think of you often and do miss hanging out with you. Good luck with all the changes in your life right now. I'm sure it'll all work out.
...and my sister-in-law's name is Sylvette...in case you do end up running into her eventually (hopefully not literally ;)). I have no idea how big that place is so maybe you won't see her but in case you do... she's super nice.

Congrats from another silent reader. All the best! -MS
Monica...hmmm...I vaguely remember that name...haha. How are ya! It's been a while. I was thinking of you recently as I read Circle of Friends. Remember how I borrowed yours and ended up keeping your copy, replacing it with a new one? I will watch for Sylvette, avoiding any violent collisions.
Melissa May...thanks for stopping by! :)
PHEW!!! I thought maybe you had changed your mind - but was relieved to see you are indeed staying!! And I'm calling you now to talk about your new job!! YEAH!!
Hey Audrey! Congrats on the job. My cousin worked for them. Started off in reservations in Moncton and went up the chain and ended up in Lake Louise (took a few years), but it's definitely a company where your options are almost limitless! (Apparently they're great to work for to!)
um, yea, i think i remember the book thing.... weren't you crazy enough to write all through it *exactly* like in my book because you didn't want me to know it wasn't my book... lol... too funny :P I miss the old days *sigh*
