The last two weeks
Ok...I'm slow posting again, but...well...yeah. No excuses. Just the facts. So what's been happening? Nova Scotia Part III was heaps of fun. I actually made several trips back and forth in the span of a few days, but we'll just call it all one trip. Spent time with the grandparents. Hosted the gals at the cottage for a couple days. Zoe and I enjoyed an adventurous walk on the beach all the way around the point and we were quite mucky by the end, but it was fun and she made some friends. But two days later when the gals arrived, the mosquitoes decided to take over and it was almost unbearable to be outside. So we stayed in and played games, poked in and out of little shops in the village...it was all good.
Immediately following NS part 3 was the grand finale of the summer...Pembroke, ON! Got home from the beach, did 2 loads of laundry, and then headed west for the Mau Pool & Resort (with a brief stopover in Sussex for a sleep.) Hanging with Julie and her family was awesome. It was the perfect weekend. We were in the pool or sitting by it approximately 78.4% of our waking hours (which made for a sunburn that I'm still dealing with). Her brother taught us to scuba dive, and even though it was limited to retrieving coins from the bottom of their pool (max depth = 5 ft.), I thought it was quite exciting. So good to see Julie too. Love that girl.
So I've been home a week now. Still on vacation, but it's quite low-key right now. Scrapbooking, laundry, movies, organizing stuff...these are the activities that fill my days currently. It's all good and fun, but not exactly anecdotal. I did go biking last night (with P & S) for the first time in 6 years or so. That was a lot of fun. I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be, except I feel like I fell several stories and landed in a saddle. My cell phone just rang and apparently they're going again in about 45 minutes. I think I'll join them.
I'll finish with these...
1. Relationships are always interesting, if not easy.
2. I've perfected the homemade iced cappiccino.
3. Although sad to lose my office, I'm getting excited to get settled into my new cubicle and decorate it and make it my own.
4. I'm glad Kaysar's back. Who woulda thunk an Iraqi-American would get 82% of the votes over a firefighter.
