Jo's cry has been heard!

A quick update...

1. Finished working at MW just over a week ago. It was hard to leave, but I didn't feel quite as emotional about it as I expected. Although there were a few moments when I got a lump in my throat. I think it would have been very, very difficult if I were moving out of town also.

2. The first week of working at FHR is now done and it has been great. It feels like it's been more than a week because there's been so much to learn. I am so pleased because it is simply a great place to work. They treat their people well, and everyone seems happy to be there. And I'm surprised for how much opportunity for advancement there is locally. Previously I thought that I'd have to move away to look at advancement. The only thing less than perfect is knowing that I'll need to put my time in working some crazy schedules before I'm able to get the shifts that I want.

3. Life has been busy! There's not been one particular thing that has taken over my schedule, but a combination of small factors make the days seem too short. A stricter dress code means I need to put more planning into what I am going to wear, more ironing. A shorter lunch break means having to prepare a packed lunch. A slightly longer workday means my evening is shortened by an hour. And I've had lots on the go with missions and a few projects for Echo Publications. Friday night at 10:00 I breathed a sigh of relief that the weekend had finally arrived.

4. I'm very very very excited about the new apartment and can hardly wait to get in and get settled. I find myself in the housewares department anytime I enter a store, and it is like this brand new realm of shopping has come alive. Not that I want to be materialistic, but it's so exciting to see things to get for creating my own space. My most exciting purchase has been a 10 pc. set of Paderno pots and pans for $150. Yep. Incredible. I later saw a 7 pc. set of the same for $400. Methinks I got an exceptional deal.

5. Annie comes home this afternoon. That is very exciting. She should be home within the next half hour or so.

Annie is home! It's exciting. I have your picture cd ready. It will probably be quickest to give it to Paulette to take to Andrew.

Are you going to have a apartment warming? Do you get to register for those things? Or are gift cards most appropriate...?

Krystle! Yay! Hope you had a great summer!

Apartment warming...I'll keep you posted. I'm excited about the idea of having everyone in, but i'll have to make it a bit of an open house over several hours, because it's a beautiful one bedroom apt, but it will max out quickly!

No need to bring any gifts...just your presence is completely appropriate. I'll let you know the date asap!

lol..I am invisioning on the invites "your time to come is between 7:00-7:15"...but I completely understand what you mean.

I did have a GREAT (and boring) summer! I plan on staying in Moncton more this year (and I mean a lot more) so we'll have to get together for coffee or something (like we always said last year we'd do..but I made it impossible!)
