If you know me well, you know I love my car...
...and that is why the events of the evening are a little heart-breaking.
Mom is in town for the next few days and so we were out for a bit just after suppertime. On our way home, we were approaching the traffic circle onto the causeway. I was inching out to get onto the circle, but the traffic was coming too fast, so I waited. The gal behind me thought I'd gone and next thing you know...BANG.
This was the order of my thoughts within the next 0.7 seconds (It takes much longer to read it than it does to think it!):
1. What the...
2. Rear-ended...phew...it's not my fault!
3. Is mom okay?
4. I'm okay.
5. Let's get out of the way of the rest of traffic.
6. Friggin' eh! I LOVE my car!!!
So...we're okay. Bit of a headache. A little bit sore in the shoulder, probably worse tomorrow, but on the whole, fine. I feel bad for the other girl because I know she feels really really bad.
The diagnosis for my car? To be determined. Tomorrow I deal with insurance and such. At first glance, one wouldn't think it would be a write off, but when you look more closely at how much paneling is damaged, it's questionable. We'll see. I really really really hope it's not.
This is the most heart-broken I've been over a material item. :-(
